The Big Fashion Sale by Quebec Designers is a well-established, popular semi-annual shopping event. Begun in 1994 with some 50 customers, the Braderie now attracts 30 000 people over four days in Montreal and 15 000 shoppers over three days in Quebec City. From 60 to 150 fashion designers and brands participate each season, which is why one can find just about everything at the sale. Presented by Anne de Shalla, the Braderie’s mission is to showcase what Montreal, Quebec City and now Ottawa and Gatineau have to offer in fashion. From the well-established to the newcomers, the participating designers get to liquidate their samples and inventory surplus at low prices. It is also a unique opportunity for the clients to meet with the designers who are often on site.
